Located in a sheltered cove between Simon's Town and Cape Point, Boulders Beach is home to a colony of 3 000 African Penguins. It is the only place in the world where you get so close to African Penguins. Boulders Beach is a part of the Table Mountain National Park and is also reknown for its perfect swimming spot (the granite boulders protect the beach from the wind). The best view to see the penguins is from Foxy Beach, where boardwalks allows you to get really close to the animal. During your visit, you'll see penguins nesting, swimming, moulting, playing or just walking around. The entrance costs 70 ZAR (5€). Boulders Beach is one of Cape Town's most visited beaches, therefor it is really crowded and there's no room to swing a cat! However, it's a perfect opportunities to capture nice shots of the bird, to discover its habits and collective behaviour and without a doubt, it's an idea place for a visit with kids.
