Cobham Nature Reserve is located in the Southern Drakensberg near the small town of Underberg. This part of the Drakensberg is famous for its grasslands and its beautiful scenary. This 52,000 hectare Nature Reserve is more isolated than the other parks and therefor is the least visited part of the mountain range. However, the landscapes are no less magnificent. The Pholela River flows between the rolling high altitude grassland and become a paradise for the fishing enthusiasts. The area offer spectacular hiking, like the Sani Pass, a trail crossing over the mountains to Lesotho, and the The Giant's Cup Trail, a trail running along the foothills of the Drakensberg from Sani Pass to Bushman's Nek. We advice you to get a map of the trails in advance, because the map you will get in the entrance office will confuse you more than anything else! Indeed, we wanted to hike in Cobham but we found ourslef inventing our own trail because we couldn't understand the map. However, we had a wonderfull time walking in the reserve,
