LOCATION : Panorama Route Map

COST : Most of the landmarks and attractions along the Panorama Route cost money. You need to pay 20 ZAR /p (1,3 €) to access the view point Three Rondavels and 50 ZAR/p (3 €) for the Bourke's Luck Potholes. We don't know the price for the others spots but we guess it is in the same order of price.
One of the country's most scenic self-drives, the Panorama Route is connecting several cultural and natural points of interest in the Mpumalanga highlands. The most common way to travel this road is to start near Lydenburg and to end at the Echo Caves near Ohrigstad. But you can easily make your own itinary according to your own interest.
We actually did it in the opposite way, from north to south because we were already in the Blyde River Canyon Nature Reserve. Because of our short timing and because we strated pretty late (the sunset is early in july), we only had the chance to stop in the Three Rondavels view point and in Bourke's Luck Potholes. We regretted not having enough time to stop in more places on the Panorama Road. We felt like we missed a big part of the enchantment. We will definitly recommend to start your day early and to not rush the drive !
